Assistant Accountant

About the Role
As our Assistant Accountant, you’ll play a key role in supporting financial operations, including preparing financial statements, processing invoices, managing GST and BAS returns, and assisting with month-end and year-end accounts. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external auditors to ensure accuracy and compliance across all financial activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage supplier invoices, payments, and bank reconciliations
- Reconcile sales and intercompany transactions
- Assist with budgeting, reporting, and tax returns (GST/BAS)
- Support month-end and year-end financial close
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and monthly reporting
- Collaborate with sales managers on trade spend analysis
What You’ll Bring
- Diploma in Accounting or equivalent training
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience
- Proficiency in Office 365 (especially Excel), MYOB, and XERO
- Solid understanding of P&L and balance sheets
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Familiarity with ERP systems
