We are looking for a proactive and experienced R&D Packaging & Product Technologist to join our R&D team and play a key role in developing innovative packaging and product solutions from concept through to launch.

About the role

This role is an exciting mix of product, process and packaging development as part of a collaborative and innovative research & development team.

This is a hands-on, project-driven role where you’ll work closely with internal teams (R&D, Production, Procurement, Engineering, Quality and Sales), customers and suppliers to deliver commercially successful packaging and product solutions.

Your key responsibilities:

· Lead packaging and product development projects from concept to launch, with a focus on customer needs and operational objectives.

· Coordinate trials, testing and technical documentation

· Manage project timelines and collaborate with cross-functional teams

· Support production, quality and continuous improvements initiatives

· Ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory standards

· Drive packaging innovation and sustainable solutions

· Stay up to date with food standards, market trends and packaging innovations

· Support sourcing and implementation of new packaging solutions

About You

· Tertiary qualification in Food Science or related field

· Minimum 5 years’ experience in packaging and/or product development, within the food industry

· Strong project management and organisational capabilities

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Analytical approach with strong problem-solving ability

· Creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box and innovate.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant technical systems
